PT Graha Agro Nusantara

• Astra Agro Lestari has engaged with PT Graha Agro Nusantara (PT GAN), to seek clarification regarding the allegations raised in the Rapid Response 50 Report from Mighty Earth.
• PT GAN has acknowledged that land clearing took place within peatland areas, as identified through aerial photographs from internal monitoring in May 2024. This clearing took place without proper authorization from top management and without following company procedures.
• In response, PT GAN has implemented corrective and preventive actions, including restoring the cleared area through natural seedling planting, removing oil palms that had been planted in the area, socializing the restoration plan with new management units, updating SOPs to enhance monitoring of land cover changes, conducting socialization of updated SOPs to management units, and issuing land cover change monitoring guidelines/mechanisms.
• Based on the efforts undertaken by PT GAN regarding the matter, we consider that the action plan has been fully implemented and the case is closed.
